Privacy Policy
Fundprint is operated by Private Equity Marketeer Ltd Last updated: April 2026
1. Introduction
Private Equity Marketeer Ltd (registered in England and Wales, company address: 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ) operates Fundprint, a win/loss intelligence service for private markets fund managers and asset managers. You can find out more at fundprint.co.
We are committed to protecting the personal information of everyone who interacts with us — including fund manager clients, limited partners and other individuals who participate in research interviews, website visitors, and prospective clients.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have. It applies to our website, client portal, research services, and any other touchpoints through which we operate (collectively, the "Services").
By using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
Where we act as a data controller (determining the purposes and means of processing), this policy applies directly. In some cases — for example, where a fund manager client engages us to conduct interviews on their behalf — we may act as a data processor. In those cases, the fund manager's own privacy policy also applies, and we process data only on their documented instructions.
2. Information We Collect
We collect personal data in the following categories:
Contact and identity information — including name, job title, employer, email address, phone number, and LinkedIn profile, provided when you sign up, make an enquiry, or are introduced to us by a client.
Client and commercial data — including organisational details, billing information, and any information provided in onboarding forms, service agreements, or correspondence.
Interview and research data — if you participate in a Fundprint win/loss interview (as an LP, placement agent, or other private markets participant), we may collect the content of that conversation, including your views on a fundraise, your relationship with a fund manager, and your investment decision-making rationale. This data is collected on behalf of our fund manager clients and is subject to their engagement terms and any consent you have given.
Usage data — technical information collected automatically when you visit our website or access our client portal, including IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and time spent on pages.
Third-party and publicly available data — we may supplement our records with information from public sources such as LinkedIn, company registries, and professional databases relevant to the private markets industry.

Cookie and tracking data — as described in Section 8 below.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Depending on the context, we rely on:
  • Contract performance — to deliver our Services to clients and manage our commercial relationships.
  • Legitimate interests — to operate and improve our business, conduct research activities, communicate with prospective clients, and maintain security, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent — where we ask for it explicitly, including for certain marketing communications and for participation in research interviews.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to process data to comply with applicable law.

4. How We Use Your Information
We use the personal data we collect for the following purposes:
Service delivery — to provide win/loss intelligence research, manage client accounts, produce reports and insights, and maintain our client portal.
Research and interview administration — to contact participants in connection with Fundprint research engagements, conduct and record interviews (where consent is given), and compile anonymised or attributed findings for fund manager clients.
Business development and marketing — to send information about our services, thought leadership, and relevant private markets content to contacts who have opted in or with whom we have a legitimate interest in staying in touch. You can opt out at any time.
Security and fraud prevention — to protect our Services, clients, and interview participants from unauthorised access or misuse.
Legal and compliance obligations — to meet our obligations under applicable law and to defend our legal rights where necessary.
We will not use personal data collected through research interviews for purposes other than those disclosed at the time of collection without seeking fresh consent.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell personal data. We may share it in the following circumstances:
Fund manager clients — where you have participated in a research interview commissioned by a client, findings may be shared with that client. Where findings are attributed to you individually, this will only occur with your explicit consent; otherwise, data is reported in aggregated or anonymised form.
Service providers — we engage third-party suppliers who support our operations, including cloud hosting providers, CRM platforms, payment processors, and analytics tools. These suppliers act as data processors on our behalf and are contractually bound to process data only as instructed.
Legal and regulatory requirements — we may disclose personal data where required by law, court order, or to protect our legitimate legal interests.
Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify affected individuals in advance where required.
6. Data Retention and Security
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law or contract. Research interview data is retained for the duration of the client engagement and for a reasonable period thereafter for quality assurance and record-keeping purposes, unless a shorter retention period is agreed with the commissioning client.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These include encrypted data storage, access controls, and secure transmission protocols.
No method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
  • Access — to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — to request deletion of your personal data where there is no legitimate reason for us to continue processing it.
  • Restriction — to ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Objection — to object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
  • Portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where processing is based on consent or contract.
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, to withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the details in Section 11. We will respond within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve functionality, understand how visitors use our site, and — where consent is given — to support marketing activities.
Essential cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be disabled.
Analytics cookies help us understand usage patterns on an aggregated, anonymised basis.
You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings or via our cookie consent tool when you first visit the site.
9. International Transfers
Our Services are operated primarily in the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred to, or accessed from, countries outside the UK or European Economic Area, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place — such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions — to protect your data in accordance with applicable law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, legal obligations, or business practices. The most current version will always be available on our website, with the date of the most recent update shown at the top. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
